15 Second Summary |
A prodigy of the Ancients and the Emissary of the Convocation of Fourteen. A brilliant, curious mage, dedicated to maintaining the balance of the star. Friendly, soft-spoken, far-sighted and more manipulative than he seems. |
Abilities & Permissions |
Abilities |
Detailed skill info will go here, but overall, he's a hybrid mage, skilled at the Ancients' signature creation magicks, which let him shape aether into permanent objects or even creatures. |
Permissions |
Just get in touch with me if things are getting intense! I promise I don't bite. Generally I'd prefer to gloss over anything heavily torturous, and I'm going to have to veto detailed use of insects, especially under the skin. Anything else we can probably talk through. |
Sensing |
Themis is very sensitive to the flows of magical energy, and can tell whether or not something has a soul, though not in any detail. He'll still probably notice anything magical that's going on.
As far as sensing him goes, he's a magical powerhouse with MP for days, weeks, months and years. Ancients aren't entirely mortal -- they don't have to eat or sleep very often, for example, although they do need both, and they live so long that very few of them die of natural causes -- so it's likely that he's pretty suffused with aether. |

Date: 2023-06-23 06:56 am (UTC)TAKEAWAYS:
* He's the Emissary. That's important. He has a role and duty to make impartial decisions.
* He admires everyone else he works with; it seems as though they're all somewhat older, though he only has strong impressions of a few. They're all extremely cool, including the guy he's talking to, Emet-Selch, who's prickly and acerbic but has a good heart. He has a strong impression of Azem's personality but, for some reason, can't quite remember what he looked like...
* Azem has a tendency to intervene where maybe he shouldn't, but that's just part of his ever-refreshing perspective. Themis feels a responsibility to keep him out of hot water.
* They talk about pulling all the fire aether out of a volcano, manifesting it as a fire elemental, and beating it up as if it was nothing particularly special. In the memory, he doesn't see it as a particularly notable feat.
* The city they're in is beautiful.
Fighting blasphemies in the Final Days
Date: 2023-08-10 06:09 am (UTC)[Themis arrives at a small seaside village currently being overrun by nameless horrors. He wipes out the little ones while buying time for the evacuation, then tries to take a bigger one captive for Lahabrea and Fandaniel to experiment on. It's a rough fight due to trying not to kill the thing and he's wary of transforming, but he manages to take it down and intern it, only to be surprised by another wave. Azem shows up in the nick of time.]

Date: 2023-06-23 07:04 am (UTC)Combat Basics
Date: 2023-06-23 07:10 am (UTC)We don't actually see Themis fight without his transformation, but I'm arbitrarily deciding that he fights like a red mage with some paladin tricks. (P11 makes it pretty clear that he has RDM vibes -- mixed melee and magic, a lot of dualcast or mirrored abilities, a deep obsession with balance...) In general, as an Ancient, he's got a fair bit more punch than a PC red mage (in much the same way that Venat used punched-up familiar PLD/DNC/WHM skills), but most of the basics will be familiar, with some elements from P11S mixed in because I like them.
This also gives him the ability to convert and condense aether in the four RDM elements (wind, stone, lightning and fire) plus light and dark using his general aether manipulation skills, as well as summon a staff/spear, which he uses as a focus instead of a rapier.
